# M01-L01 exercise — Meet the workbench assistant

**Start:** CP00 and basic familiarity with a firmware function.

1. Read Chapter 1's original function and mixed illustrative response, or save your own actual response to the same request.
2. Identify three claims: one about the comparison, one about a board/API fact, and one about physical operation.
3. Create `evidence-annotation.md` with claim, evidence label, support, next check, and result columns.
4. Rewrite the unsupported deployment conclusion as a bounded statement.

Submit the worksheet and a five-line transfer note for a project you understand. Success requires a verification method suited to each claim. If you used a supplied response, label it as an instructional sample; no new AI run is required to practice the analysis.
