M08-L01 exercise

Starting checkpoint: CP08. Figures: SS17-01.

Create a capstone brief and table covering state history, equality, faults/recovery, command grammar/bounds, reset, and evidence limits. Split work into four reviewable slices and identify checks for each. Start from a preserved CP08 branch; do not claim CP09 behavior already exists. Submit plan and baseline receipts.

Record source identity, changed files, exact commands, actual outcomes, and open limitations. Preserve the original exercise copy and review the final diff. Expected results are criteria, not evidence of execution.

VS Code Markdown preview shows requirements R04 through R09: enter ALERT at 28.0 degrees Celsius; clear at threshold minus 1.0; reject missing, nonfinite or stale input; require two fresh samples to recover; bound commands to 64 bytes and 0–50 degrees; reset to 28.0 and FAULT.
SS17-01 · SS17-01. The final CP09 reference defines inclusive alert boundaries, stale-input faults, two-sample recovery, bounded commands, and reset behavior.
