M08 challenge — Demonstrate and defend your result

Bring the completed capstone candidate and one bounded transfer task. Present the private source package, requirements, reviewed diff/history, actual verification receipts, documentation, handoff, skill cases, effort record, and maintenance plan. Another checkout must reproduce the required software checks from the intended release source.

Score the candidate using the 100-point capstone rubric. Link each awarded item to an actual artifact or result. Review all four mandatory gates independently of the total. A missing check stays open even when the arithmetic reaches 80.

Defend four decisions: why both sides of the hysteresis band need history, why complete numeric validation preserves configuration after malformed input, why the seeded defects establish useful test behavior, and why synthetic replay does not establish physical operation. Demonstrate where the source and evidence support each answer.

Present the transfer change from Chapter 18. Explain its acceptance criterion, reviewed result, actual verification, total-effort observations, and future maintenance trigger. Qualitative effort reporting is acceptable when time was not measured. Invented timings or learner feedback are not.

Submit a concise defense alongside the evidence bundle and scored rubric. When a gate is open, name the missing evidence and next bounded action rather than claiming a pass. The full core capstone can pass without physical equipment or public release. See LAB17, LAB18, and L05.
